About This Spot

Stepping into Pharaohs Donuts is like slipping into a quiet pocket of St. Louis where time slows down just enough for you to savor a simple, honest moment. This unassuming spot, tucked away on North 9th Street, carries the easygoing hum of a cherished neighborhood stopover — a place where the worn counters and slightly weathered walls suggest decades of daily ritual rather than polished perfection.

The atmosphere moves at its own laid-back pace. It’s not about style or flash here; it’s about comfort and familiarity. You’ll find locals and early risers drawn to the bakery’s warm, welcoming glow, enjoying coffee paired with donuts made fresh minutes before. The rhythm of the space is quietly alive — bakers at work just behind the glass, the soft chatter of friendly staff on hand, and the occasional laughter from regulars who’ve been coming for years.

Pharaohs Donuts holds a subtle kind of magic through its straightforward menu. The sweetness of a glazed donut, the gooey pull of cinnamon rolls, and unexpected flavors like strawberry cheesecake or Oreo dusted creations create moments of joy that feel both nostalgic and novel. This is a place where the classics sit comfortably alongside creative twists, and you can watch the craft unfolding in real time.

The vibe is unpretentious and authentic, with a quietly lived-in charm that some might call rough around the edges. It’s a reminder that real flavor often hides in places that don’t shout the loudest. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick morning pick-me-up or treating yourself to a sugar-laden afternoon pause, Pharaohs offers an experience rooted in simple pleasures and human connection – the kind of spot that feels like a well-kept local secret.

This little hidden gem in St. Louis is everything you’d want from a local mom-and-pop donut shop. The donuts were incredibly fresh and delicious, paired perfectly with a simple cup of black coffee. The shop has a slightly run-down vibe, and the area might feel a little sketchy, but that’s part of the charm – it’s authentic, unpretentious, and clearly loved by locals. The service was friendly and the staff are funny. For what you’d expect from a local mom and pop shop, they’re doing awesome, and I love supporting small businesses like this! Definitely worth a visit.

Wow. I was skeptical when I walked in because to be honest the place is a bit run down and behind the counter was quite a mess, and there was a bit of smoke in air from something having been burnt... Anyways! Selection was pretty low, even at 930am on a Tuesday. I got the cinnamon roll and hot damn, it went right into my top 3 favorite donuts list! So light and fluffy and the best part was it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Perfect amounts of cinnamon and a nice thin glaze... The price was very reasonable, only $2 and change for something so delicious! I'll absolutely be back! Highly recommend trying!

Good for a fast snack! Enjoy self-made fresh donuts and more! Coffee was OK. No hot chocolate available, but cold one. Not expensive! So recommended! The inside look although could be better. Positive is, that you can watch the bakers make donuts!
